One goes to school for two reasons; to learn a bit and have fun a ton. While you certainly can picture experiencing almost every great film ever made that way, this isn't any school... this is THE HARVARD OF CINEMA!
In this century defining biographical drama mastermind David Fincher and the impeccable screenplay by Aaron Sorkin take you on a ride of brilliance and craftsmanship. On the scale of direction, the editing, the exposition and the Montage, the musical dialog and original soundtrack The Social Network gets strait 1600s.
Wasting no time to get you hooked up (yep!) and fully engaged in the narrative. A vibe of awe and irritation is established with the very first dialog in the very first seconds, depicting exactly the new world that will be born at the end; irritative and provocative from the inside out while one is physically sitting still facing a digital screen, and emotionally emerging in the so called virtual social experience.
Following Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg on his pursuit of relevance and hunger for conception - because you know "Harvard undergraduates believe that inventing a job is better than finding a job" - while going through some chaos with his best friend, colleague rivals, and gradually, the world. This is not the story of the creation of Facebook and the down of social media as we know it today, nor is it a story about technology, it's rather a story about relationships and friendships, this is a tale of warfare and genius.
Jessie Eisenberg portrays Mark Zuckerberg better than Mark Zuckerberg partrays Mark Zuckerberg, that when I hear Mark Zuckerberg speak sometimes, especially during that infamous testimony before congress, I feel he's doing it wrong.
Whether you're only familiar with his name or you know his whole story, and whether or not you are on Facebook, this work of perfection is worth your time and money.
Though this is basically a pile of conversations edited together, it is compelling, rhythmic, and as entertaining as an undergraduate banger party.
Needless to say that unlike Mark Zuckerberg while coding and blogging, you need to be sober and sharp while watching this. A good monitor is essential, but what's more so is the best sound system you can have for premium experience. Set your volume and beat to a decent rate, and however loud and annoying it gets during certain sequences, do not touch that remote control.
