What is the meaning of company? Why do we all need a true company that feels relevant and authentic. A companion that acknowledges our worth, our qualities and competences, befriends us and dares us, and not merely pities us for our vulnerable spots and shortcomings? And most importantly, how and where should we go and find one?
The Intouchables is a biographical comedy-drama following Philippe, a wealthy quadriplegic French man and his newly recruited caregiver Driss, a pitiless French-Moroccan young man who's being and behavior are like a middle-finger in the face of the bourgeoisie, etiquette, and culture. This is an ode of an extraordinary friendship between two men, worlds-apart in the social and cultural sense, but in their core essence they're much of a muchness.
Named the cultural event of the year in France, and became the highest-grossing film in the history of non-English cinema. This 21st century classic is for everyone. This is a feel-good movie made right.
Noteworthy to mention, the sensational soundtrack featuring a Vivaldi concerto, Nina Simon's Feeling Good, and original timeless music by Ludovico Einaudi that could not interpret the story any better.
