Inside Llewyn Davis (2013)

"Hang me oh hang me

I'll be dead and gone

Wouldn't mind the hanging

But the laying in the grave so long

Poor boy

I've been all around this world..."

Inside Llewyn Davis is a black-comedy music drama following Llewyn Davis, a down on his luck, homeless folk musician who is trying to find his way as an artist in 1961 NYC, his life and music.

The Coen brothers and their attention to quality and details carry on with their legendary filmography over the past four decades. Making an atmospheric drama about those who are thrown and squeezed on the side of the road. A plotless ballad exploring depression, hustling, and the pursuit of relevance.

Oscar Isaac is phenomenal. Live singing the folk songs himself, taking hold of our sympathy, and embodying the character.

Inside Llewyn Davis is a folk song, a relatable realism, and a brilliant comedy.

"... Put the rope around my neck

Hung me up so high

Put the rope around my neck

Hung me up so high

Last words I heard him say:

Won't be long now 'fore you die

Poor boy

I've been all around this world"
