If you have been following up with this series, if you have gone through one or two of these articles and have any bits of trust in my variety of film suggestions, or - worst case scenario - if you have an 80 minutes to risk giving away. I recommend that you, blindly, go into Blue Jay.
For as much as I am exited for you to experience my favorite indie film of all time, just like I have, I am not going to give any synopsis of the story for premium quality cinematic experience.
Blue Jay is a romantic drama.
The black and white intimacy and the heartfelt story. Minimal, short, non-linearly linear, genuine and honest. It flows over you so seamlessly yet it takes hold of your emotions. As simple as it is Blue Jay is as sentimentally packed as (I am going to say it) Casablanca.
Mark Duplass is one of the most prestigious artists of our time, he writes and he acts. He proves that with quality, committed writing you can make great art and tell a story with class despite how small your budget is.
It is so unfortunate that this was overlooked by most people and cinephiles who appreciate this art form, I say unfortunate because we almost don't get such great films anymore.
Please go check Blue Jay out (no trailers and no previews), and support independent cinema. It is nostalgic, it is fun, it is sympathizable, and it is absolutely worth your time.
