A real human being and a real hero!
Drive is an action crime-drama following a Hollywood stuntman who works as mechanic during the day and as a getaway driver at night. He grows close and develops feeling towards his new neighbor, Irene, and her young son. To protect them, he gets involved in a criminal activity with Irene's criminal husband who's just released from prison.
This is a tale of a perfectionist who's heart is conflicted within the imperfection. This is about the thin gray line between romance and violence that one wishes to never cross. This is about boy who meets girl.
Nicolas Winding Refn crafts one of the finest action features ever to come out of Hollywood, with compelling characters and storyline, haunting narrative, masterfully constructed sequences and outstanding editing. He tells his story in the most outstanding fashion and visual poetry.
Ryan Gosling, alongside a fantastic cast, is fascinating as the nameless driver, he whose heart is as clear as day but you never know what's on his mind. Gosling hits running on whatever ground he's put and proves himself in every genre as one of America's most talented actors.
The sound design and music of the film take you on a whole new level of adrenaline and emotion, and the atmospheric on-location cinematography of Los Angeles especially those sequences at moonlight capture all your scenes. This is a cinematic marvel of sight and sound like you never have experienced.
Drive is not merely an action film with stimulating car chase sequences, it's a harmonized combination of art and entertainment, and one beautiful masterpiece of 21st century cinema.
